Women's Golf Jumps Three Spots to Third Place After Day Two of NEC Championship

Round Two Results

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -
The LIU Brooklyn women's golf team jumped three spots to third place after the second round of the Northeast Conference Championship on Saturday at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. 

The Blackbirds performed the best of all teams during the second round, shooting a 312 for a total of 638. Their 312 was also the lowest round of the tournament so far. Wagner remains in first with a total of 630, followed by Fairleigh Dickinson with 635. Saint Francis U. and Sacred Heart are tied for fourth with 639.

Senior Cristina Felip knocked off four strokes from yesterday's round, carding a three-over 75, the second lowest round of any player on the day. She is tied for fourth with one other player, with a toal of 154 for the two rounds. She had one birdie on the day with 13 pars.

Junior Marisol Doglioli is tied for ninth with 158, also making a four stroke improvement. She carded a 77 with 13 parred holes. Junior Victoria Fagan carded an 80 and is one stroke behind at 159 and tied for 11th place.

Seniors Alice Boothroyd and Brianna Maynard both made seven stroke improvements during the second round. Boothroyd finished with an 80 in round two and is in 22nd place, while Maynard carded an 82 and is tied for 26th.

Saint Francis U.'s Taylor Jaramillo leads all individuals with 147.

The third and final round of the tournament begins tomorrow. The Blackbirds will tee off at 8:50 a.m.
