PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The LIU Brooklyn women's golf team defeated Rutgers and St. John's in a tri-match on Wednesday, contested in match play format at the Rutgers Golf Course.

Despite tough conditions, the Blackbirds came out on top against both teams, with seniors Cristina Felip and Alice Boothroyd both winning twice on the day.

LIU Brooklyn defeated St. John's 3.5 to 1.5, with Felip and Boothroyd both winning 4 and 3. Junior Victoria Fagan won 6 and 4 for LIU's third point, while junior Marisol Doglioli tied with the Red Storm's Saskia Sterud. Senior Brianna Maynard fell to Anna Kim who was 1-up.

In the second match against Rutgers, the Blackbirds earned the victory 3-2. Boothroyd won again, this time at 6 and 4, while Felip defeated her competitor at 2-1 and Doglioli at 3 and 2. 

LIU Brooklyn is back in action this weekend at the Brown Invitational at the Metacomet Country Club in East Providence, R.I. from April 12-13.
