BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU men's soccer team is back at LIU Field on Saturday, Sept. 26 to host La Salle at 1:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Blackbirds fell to Saint Peter's, 3-1, on the road last Sunday, moving the Blackbirds to 2-5-1 on the season. Freshman Rasmus Hansen scored the single goal for LIU off of a pass from senior Tanner Sica in the 74th minute.
ABOUT THE BLACKBIRDS
Hansen is the Blackbirds' leading scorer, securing his fifth goal of the season against the Peacocks, while redshirt freshman Romario Guscott has also been a contributing factor for LIU with two goals on the season. Sophomore keeper Cole Palmer has recorded 19 saves so far this season for the Blackbirds.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
La Salle is 4-4 coming into the match against LIU, after suffering a loss to #17 Temple on Wednesday. Senior Goalkeeper Mike Kirk records 23 saves on the season and was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week. Redshirt freshman Tony Daniele leads the offense for the Explorers with a pair of goals and two assists this season.

Last season, the Blackbirds were edged by La Salle in a 1-0 defeat, bringing the all-time record to 0-2.
