Final Results

Bronx, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn cross country competed in the Metropolitan Championships on Friday at Van Cortlandt Park. The Blackbirds finished the meet in 12th place with a score of 328.

Junior Adjovi Simpini, who placed 76th overall, was the first member of the team to cross the finish line finishing the 5k course in 22:20.6.

Junior Nerene Aberdeen (24:07.7) was the next LIU Brooklyn runner to finish placing 93rd overall.

Sophomore Zaahira Deboise (24:41.9), junior Esther Jean-Louis (24:58.7), and senior Alison Doway (25:02.1) rounded out the Blackbirds top-five.

Host Fordham University won the title finishing with a score of 41 points. St. John's University sophomore Antonia Howard (18:27.0) finished in first place.

LIU Brooklyn returns to action Sunday, Oct.16 when it competes in the St. John's Cross Country Fall Festival.
