STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- The LIU Brooklyn women's track and field team competed in the Seahawk Shootout Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Junior Esther Jean-Louis placed third in the 600-meter run crossing the line in 1:41.49. Right behind her was junior Nerene Aberdeen (1:41.78), who finished fourth.
The Blackbirds 4x400 relay (sophomore Cayla Coleman, freshman Angeli Andre, senior Teena Mobley, and freshman Kiki Fapohunda) placed seventh finishing the race in 4:18.56.
Freshman T'Rejyah Johnson finished the 300m in 41.61 to place 9th. Sophomore Deja Johnson (42.43) finished 15th.
Jolie Mwambayi placed tied for fifth in the long jump leaping 4.62m. The sophomore then finished 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 10.03m.
Freshman Taylor Parker continued the Blackbirds success in the field events placing seventh in the shot put with a throw of 11.42.
The Blackbirds return to the track Friday, January 6 when they compete in the Wagner College Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
