SOMERSET, N.J. - Senior Cemorne Baugh has had a successful indoor campaign this season, taking home her second Northeast Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor, announced by the conference office on Monday. The veteran sprinter continues to sit on top of the NEC leaderboard in the 200m dash going into the final weekend of competition before the conference championship meet.
Baugh appears to be approaching her peak just in time for the NEC Indoor Championships. With the title meet only two weeks away, the LIU sprinter posted seasonal bests in both the 60m and 200m dashes this past weekend. First, she placed third in the 200m at the New York Metropolitan Championships, which unfolded at the Ocean Breeze Complex on Staten Island, NY. Baugh clocked in at 24.65, trimming 0.18 second off the NEC-leading time she registered on January 22. The Jamaican-born sprinter's seasonal best moved her up to the No. 18 spot on the ECAC regional leader board. One day later, at the same facility, Baugh contested the 60m dash at the Villanova Invitational and posted the second-fastest time (7.71) in the NEC thus far this season.
