BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Kathryn Harvey was named the Northeast Conference Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league on Monday.
The freshman was a driving force behind LIU's offensive explosion against St. Mary's (CA), after the Blackbirds recorded their highest single-game goal total since 2009. The rookie midfielder tallied six points in the 22-9 victory over the Gaels.
The British Columbia product scored four goals and dished out two assists to close out the western swing for LIU, and now ranks third on the team with both 11 points and seven goals this season.
Harvey and the rest of the Blackbirds will be back in action on Wednesday, March 16 when they travel to Siena. LIU will face off with the Saints with a first draw set for 4:00pm.
