March NTCA Poll
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn women's bowling team is ranked No. 12 in the latest National Tenpin Coaches' Association (NTCA) March Poll, it was announced Tuesday. The Blackbirds move up two spots from their previous ranking, and now hold their highest ranking in the program's history.
After five months of competition, LIU maintains a 63-45 overall record, and recently capped the regular Northeast Conference season at 11-9. The No. 12 Blackbirds received 405 points in the March poll, four more than February.
Nebraska reclaimed the top spot in the poll, after receiving 19 first place votes. Arkansas State who previously occupied first place, fell to the No. 2 spot this month. Vanderbilt, Sam Houston State and Stephen F. Austin round out the top five, respectively.
Fairleigh Dickinson, the sole NEC school ranked ahead of LIU, held onto their No. 9 ranking.
The Blackbirds will return to the lanes for their final regular season event this weekend. Beginning on Friday, March 18 the team will compete in Smyrna, Tenn. at the Vanderbilt Music City Classic.
