BROOKLYN, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn junior Jenn Peters was named to the Northeast Conference Women's Lacrosse First Team on Thursday, it was announced by the league. The award is the second straight first-team honor for Peters, who led the Blackbirds in scoring for a third straight season.
The dynamic Peters scored 55 goals to lead the NEC and rank second all-time in LIU single-season history, behind her school-record 62 set last season. The left-handed dominant midfielder scored four or more goals in seven of her 17 matches this year, and had multiple goals in all but one match.
In a 15-12 win over Manhattan, Peters had six goals and added an assist, then had the same stat line later in the season in a victory over Howard. In addition to her goal total, Peters added seven assists, a team-high 121 shots, 13 ground balls and 12 draw controls.
For her career, Peters has accumulated 155 goals to rank second in LIU Brooklyn history, 30 behind Amy Rizzo (2004-07). Peters also has 189 points to rank second behind Rizzo (249), entering her senior season in 2017.
