LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Junior Esther Jean Louis was the top finisher for the LIU Brooklyn women's cross country team on Friday at the Rider Invitational. Jean Louis crossed the finish line of the 6.15 kilometer race in 24:27.37 to close in 68th place out of 122 competitors.
As a team, the Blackbirds finished ninth with 276 points. Sophomore Adjovi Simpini ended her race in 84th position, while Nerene Aberdeen, Alison Doway, Zaahira Deboise and Cisse Diawara also took part in the event.
Richmond was the team winner of the Rider Invitational, as their five scoring runners placed 2-5-10-11-13. Marist was the runner up, while Saint Joseph's finished third.
LIU Brooklyn returns to action on October 7th at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx for the Metropolitan Championships.
