Day One Results
READING, Pa. - The No. 14 nationally-ranked LIU Brooklyn bowling team went 3-3 on day one of the Kutztown Invitational Friday. Highlighting the day for the Blackbrids was a win over No. 7 nationally-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
The Blackbirds finished the day in 13th overall, with a total pinfall of 5,526, out of 28 teams, 17 of which are ranked in the top 25 in the nation.
LIU opened the day with a loss to No. 9 Central Missouri, 994-979. The Blackbirds then had their big win of the day, a 980-930 victory over No. 7 Wisconsin-Whitewater. LIU beat the Warhawks in four of the five matches, 206-204, 221-220, 178-145, 195-168, and 180-193.
Up next, the Blackbirds took on Bethune-Cookman, winning, 926-822. LIU then had back-to-back losses to top-15 teams, falling to No. 6 McKendree, 963-895, and to No. 11 North Carolina A&T, 905-775.
The Blackbirds finished the day winning handily over the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford, 972-731.
