Men's Golf | Oct 01 | Men's Golf Finishes First Round Of Binghamton Tourney APALACHIN, N.Y. --- The third event of the LIU Brooklyn men's golf's fall schedule kicked off this afternoon as the Blackbirds began play in the Binghamton University/Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational. After 18 holes, LIU currently sits in 14th place with a team score of 27-over 315. Freshman Manuel Sosa and senior Kyle Maihi were the lone Blackbirds to crack the top 50 individually after shooting first round 78s to tie for 46th at 6-over. Junior Daniel Reale was one stroke and one spot away from the top-50 benchmark, carding a 7-over 79 to start the tournament. Rounding out the Blackbird lineup were senior Victor Aronsson at 8-over 80 (T-61st) and junior George Helsby at 9-over 81 (T-72nd). Freshman Jayden Brown competed as an individual and shot an 11-over 83 to finish tied for 79th. The second and final round of the tournament will commence on Monday morning.
