BLOOMFIELD, Conn. --- The LIU Brookly women's golf team completed its penultimate tournament of the fall season this weekend, ending the Hartford Hawk Invitational in sixth place overall with a team score of 89-over 665 (330-335).
LIU waited until Sunday to complete Saturday's first round because of delays but still ended its opening 18 in fifth place overall. Sophomore
Carolina Ronchel positioned herself in the top ten, tying for ninth with a 6-over 78. Senior
Lauren Rutherglen made the top 25 after shooting a 10-over 82 (T-22nd). Following Ronchel and Rutherglen were sophomore
Rebeca Pardos (11-over 83; T-26th), junior
Sara Ciliberto (15-over 87; T-38th), and sophomore
Aida Gonzalez (19-over 91; T-46th).
The Blackbirds' individual finishing order remained the same after the second and final round. Ronchel moved to the top 15, ending the day tied for 12th (14-over 158) after shooting an 80. Rutherglen tied for 27th at 21-over 165 (82-83), Pardos settled in at 36th with a 26-over 170 (83-87), Ciliberto ended tied for 39th at 29-over 173 (87-86), and
Aida Gonzalez remained in a tie for 46th at 33-over 177 (91-86).
