Men's Golf In 14th After Round One At Towson

GRASONVILLE, MD. --- LIU Brooklyn Men's Golf completed the first round of the two-day Towson University Spring Invitational in 14th place after shooting a team total of 307 (+19) on the Par-72 course at Prospect Bay Country Club.

Junior Kyle Maihi lead the Blackbirds by shooting a 3-over 75 on the day. Seniors Rodrigo Munoz and Jake Spearpoint carded matching 5-over 77s while sophomores George Helsby and Daniel Real shot identical 6-over 78s.

As a team, the Blackbirds shot the best on their Par 5s, logging an average score of 4.90 (third-best in the field) and a total score of 2-under par.

Maihi's round gave him the lone Blackbird score in the top 50 of the individual field, placing him in a tie for 31st place as the tournament concludes Sunday morning beginning at 8 a.m.
