EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The LIU Brooklyn bowling team went 2-2 in traditional match action on the second day of the Monmouth Hawk Flight Invitational tournament, and currently sit at ninth in the team standings. The Blackbirds had a Saturday pinfall of 4,274, to put their total team pinfall at 8,808 after two days.

LIU opened traditional match action with a win over Saint Peter's, 886-704. Senior Victoria Shufelt led the Blackbirds, bowling a 200.

LIU would drop the next two matches, to Chestnut Hill (881-762) and Youngstown State (957-855). Junior Kristina Genova led LIU in the Chestnut Hill match, bowling a 213.

The Blackbirds capped the day with a win over No. 16 Kutztown, 896-850.

LIU wraps up the 2017 Monmouth Hawk Flight Invitational with the Championship Bracket, Sunday, March 5. The Blackbirds face off with Felician University in the first round.
