Men's Golf | Apr 23 | Men's Golf Takes Ninth At Navy Invitational ANNAPOLIS, MD --- LIU Brooklyn Men's Golf completed its final tournament before the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships Sunday afternoon with a ninth place performance at the Navy Spring Invitational. The Blackbirds went 54-over as a team (310-312=622), led by junior Kyle Maihi, who shot 10-over 152 (75-77) to end the weekend tied for 23rd place. Senior Jake Spearpoint (T-39th) and sophomore Daniel Reale (T-45th) were two strokes apart from each other - the upperclassmen logged a 14-over 156 (78-78) while the underclassman shot 16-over (78-80=158). Sophomore George Helsby and senior Rodrigo Munoz were even closer as one stroke separated Helsby (82-77=159 / +17; T-48th) and Munoz (79-81=160 / +18; T-51st). Junior Victor Aronsson competed as an individual and ended the two-day tournament with a personal top-20, tying for 19th place (73-77=150 / +8) NEXT UP LIU will descend on Daytona Beach, Florida beginning Friday, April 28 for the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships.
