2018 LIU Brooklyn Women's Lacrosse Schedule
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse head coach Allison Hanley released her team's 2018 season schedule Monday, just under a month before the team's home opener on Tuesday, February 13 against Rutgers. The Blackbirds will have eight home contests on LIU Field this season, including a stretch of four straight NEC games in mid-April.
LIU opens the season with two games in mid-February before taking a two-week break prior to the remaining 14 games. The Blackbirds will host Rutgers in the home and season opener, before going to Maryland-Baltimore County for a game on Saturday, February 17.
Later in March, the Blackbirds will play four non-conference games in eight days, including two at home; LIU will host Radford (March 3) and Hartford (March 10), along with a road game upstate at Siena on March 6.
Right after hosting Hartford, LIU will embark on the team's spring break trip to South Carolina and Virginia for three games in five days. On Tuesday, March 13, the Blackbirds will face Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. before heading over to Spartanburg to take on Wofford College on Thursday, March 15. The trip will conclude further north with a contest versus Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond on Sunday, March 18. The Blackbirds cap non-conference action by traveling south to Philadelphia, to take on LaSalle, Friday, March 23.
The Blackbirds will have another break in the schedule for two weeks just prior to their Northeast Conference portion of the schedule. LIU will open NEC play with Sacred Heart in Fairfield on Friday, April 6, just before a huge four-game homestretch over two weekends. LIU will host CCSU, Friday, April 13 at 4 p.m., followed by defending NEC champions Bryant, Sunday, April 15. The following weekend, the Blackbirds host Wagner, Friday, April 20, followed by a Sunday matchup with Mount St. Mary's, April 22.
LIU will go back on the road to finish the regular season with a trip down the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The Blackbirds will play Saint Francis University and Robert Morris for the last weekend of NEC action, April 27 and 29, before the NEC Tournament gets started, May 3 and 5.
