BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Northeast Conference announced the 2018 Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll Wednesday afternoon. The LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse team was picked to finished eighth by the league's coaches.
Bryant, the winners of three of the last four Northeast Conference women's lacrosse titles, was a unanimous pick to repeat, earning all seven first place votes. Wagner, last year's runner-up, was picked for second, followed by Robert Morris in third. Mount St. Mary's was selected fourth, while Sacred Heart and Central Connecticut and Saint Francis U. earned the fifth, sixth and seventh spots ahead of the Blackbirds.
LIU will look to improve on last year's 3-12 record overall, and a 1-6 in conference, under sixth year head coach head coach Allison Hanley. The Blackbirds return 11 letter-winners from the 2017 squad, in addition to nine newcomers. LIU will open the season at home in two weeks, hosting Rutgers, Tuesday, February 13 at 4 p.m.
