BROOKLYN, N.Y.— LIU Brooklyn women's track & field junior Taylor Parker was named NEC Women's Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. 

Parker continued her strong showing in the shot put event to start her junior season in downtown Brooklyn. She claimed the event win on Friday at the Seahawk Shootout with a throw of 14.02 meters. The toss leads the NEC and has her ranked 11th on the list of 26 automatic ECAC Championship qualifiers to start the season. She has earned back-to-back first place finishes in the shot put to start the season. 

LIU returns to competition in 2019 at the Wagner College Invitational at Ocean Breeze on Friday, January 4.
