Women's Golf Picked To Finish Fourth In NEC

BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- The Northeast Conference announced the results of its Women's Golf Preseason Poll Tuesday afternoon and LIU Brooklyn has been predicted to finish in a tie for fourth place in the league.

Four different teams laid claim to first-place votes, with 2017 champion Sacred Heart and runner-up Fairleigh Dickinson swapping roles in the 2018 preseason tally. FDU received four first-place votes while SHU and third-place Central Connecticut each received one vote. Wagner earned the final first-place nod and was the school tied with the Blackbirds for fourth place.

Rounding out the poll order was sixth-place Saint Francis U. and seventh-place St. Francis Brooklyn.

LIU ended the 2017 NEC Championships in third place, with current sophomore Carolina Ronchel finishing seventh overall as a freshman with a 10-over 226 (77-75-74).

The 2018 NEC Championships are slated for April 20-22 at the LPGA International golf course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
