BROOKLYN, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse freshman attacker Amanda Masullo was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. It is the first weekly honor of Masullo's career, and the first for the lacrosse team this season.
Masullo led the Blackbirds to a 2-1 week on the road. The freshman accumulated nine goals, two assists and 16 draw controls over the three games. In a 14-6 win over Presbyterian on Tuesday, the freshman attacker scored four goals to go along with seven draw controls. Masullo once again recorded seven draw controls to go along with two caused turnovers, two goals and an assist in an 18-5 victory over Wofford two days later. The Selden, NY native finished up the three-game swing with a hat trick and an assist in a setback to VCU on Sunday.
