LEADING LIU
The Blackbirds' balanced attack has led them to the top of the league in several categories. LU leads the league in assists, with 73 total, for a league best 5.21 assists per game average, and ranks third in total points scored.
Sisters Rachel Masullo and Amanda Masullo are tied for third in the league in draw controls per game, as they both had 65, for a 4.64 draw control per game average. The Selden, N.Y. natives are also two of LIU's top point scorers. Amanda Masullo and sophomore Bianca Santucci both lead LIU with 26 goals scored this year, while Rachel Masullo has 25 so far, and senior Sierra O'Connor is next, with 21 goals this season.
And it seems like nearly all of those goals have come from league-leading passer Dale Cosgrave. The junior has a league-best 31 assists this season, averaging 2.21 per game. Her average currently ranks 19th in the nation in NCAA Division I women's lacrosse.
SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
SFU enters Friday's contest with a 5-10 overall record, and 1-3 in the NEC. The Flash's lone NEC win came last week in a 15-13 decision over CCSU.
Senior Jessica Mazzur, who's attempting to set a single season record for goals in her final year, leads Saint Francis on offense. She currently ranks third in the NEC with 42 goals, a 2.8 goals per game average. The middy also ranks in the top five in assists per game, with 16, a 1 .14 per game average.
Meanwhile, freshman Emileigh Scott is a draw control powerhouse, winning 105 so far this year, dozens more than the rest of the league,; she currently averages 7.50 draw controls per game.
SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
RMU is 7-8 overall this season, and 2-2 in NEC action, having just split a road trip last weekend. The Colonials beat CCSU, 12-5, but fell to Bryant in Rhode Island, 15-9.
The Colonials have a balanced offense, with seven different team members with 10 or more goals this year. Junior Shannon Lynch and sophomore Melanie Gandie lead the team in points, with 19 and 17 goals respectively, and tied for the team high with 12 assists each.
