MANHATTAN, N.Y.— The LIU Brooklyn women's track and field team finished up competition at the two-day Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge on Saturday afternoon.
LIU's 4x400 relay team of seniors Cayla Coleman and Eugenie Hue along with junior Angeli Andre and sophomore Toni Glatz placed ninth with a time ECAC mark of 3:52.08. That time currently paces the relay teams in the Northeast Conference.
Hue also posted a top-10 finish in the 800-meter event with an ECAC qualifying mark of 2:11.86. Her time ranked ninth in the field and leads the NEC in the event.
In the field events, Stephanie Esogenwune recorded a new personal-best and ECAC qualifying jump of 11.95 meters to finish ninth overall in the triple jump. The mark now leads the NEC by nearly .30 meters. Junior Taylor Parker placed 11th in the shot put event with a ECAC qualifying throw of 13.82 meters on Friday afternoon.
LIU is back in action next Friday, February 1 at the Metropolitan Championships held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
