BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Northeast Conference announced the 2019 Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll Wednesday afternoon. The LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse team was picked to finish seventh by the league's coaches.
In one of the tightest votes yet, Bryant edged defending NEC champion Wagner in the annual preseason poll conducted by the league's head coaches. Each school received four first place votes. Mount St. Mary's and Robert Morris occupied the third and fourth spots, respectively. Saint Francis U was picked fifth, with Sacred Heart, LIU Brooklyn and Central Connecticut rounding out the poll in that order.
LIU will look to improve on last year's 3-13 record under seventh year head coach head coach Allison Hanley. The Blackbirds return nine letter-winners from the 2018 squad, in addition to eight newcomers. LIU will open the season in just over a week, traveling to take on Rutgers Rutgers, Friday, February 8 at 4 p.m.
