BROOKLYN, N.Y.— Ashley Blackwell of the LIU Brooklyn women's track & field program was named Northeast Conference Indoor Track Athlete of The Week for her performance last weekend at the Wagner College Invitational.

Blackwell started off the 2019 calendar year strong, earning the top time in the women's 60 meter dash last Friday. The sophomore posted an ECAC qualifying and personal best time of 7.72 to sit atop the leaderboard. Her standout time clocks in as the third fastest in the NEC this season.

The Blackbirds head up to the Manhattan Armory on Saturday, January 12 for the Lions Indoor Invitational.
