PRINCETON, N.J.— The LIU Brooklyn women's track & field team competed at the 2019 ECAC Outdoor Championships this weekend at Princeton.
The Blackbirds 4x400 relay team consisting of senior Cayla Coleman, junior Jody Garraway, sophomore Toni Glatz and freshman Jasmine Douglas Grant placed first with a mark of 3:49.53. The standout time was three seconds faster than the second place Coppin State.
LIU's 4x100 relay team also garnered a top-five finish in Saturday's competition. The team of senior Ashley Blackwell, junior Angeli Andre and Glatz ran a season-best time of 46.45 to place fifth in the field.
Sophomore Tara Hernandez placed 10th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.42.
In the field events, Andre finished fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.68 meters. Junior Stephanie Esogenwune placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 11.54 meters.
Junior Taylor Parker finished 11th in the shot put event with a mark of 13.08 meters.
