Brooklyn, N.Y. – The Northeast Conference announced its Fall Academic Honor Roll on Thursday, which included 46 student-athletes from Long Island University. A total of 829 student-athletes were honored by the NEC, which also announced Scholar-Athlete award winners in each of the seven championship sports from the fall season. The league also announced the 207-member Commissioner's Honor Roll, which is comprised of student-athletes who attained at least a 3.75 grade-point-average.
The total number of Academic Honor Roll honorees represented a five percent increase from the Fall of 2010. In order to receive consideration for the list, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 or better GPA and complete at least one year in residence at an NEC institution.
All scholar-athlete award winners must have earned a minimum of 60 semester hours, maintained a minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 and participated with distinction as a member of a varsity team.

The Scholar-Athlete winners were Kimberly DeLoreto (Sacred Heart) for women's cross country, Ali Kliment (Monmouth) for women's soccer, Amanda Graham (Robert Morris) for volleyball, Ry Sanderson (Central Connecticut State) for men's cross country, Eric Detzel (Mount St. Mary's) for men's soccer, Morganne Firmstone (Monmouth) for field hockey and Nolan Nearhoof (Robert Morris) for football.
