BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brookyln women's lacrosse wraps up its nonconference schedule with two games, starting Thursday, March 26, when the Blackbirds host Oregon at 4:00 p.m. at LIU Field. They return to the field Monday, March 30 to face St. Mary's at 4:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Blackbirds are coming off of their win this season, after defeating Howard on Monday 17-9. LIU Brooklyn posted 11 goals in the second half to defeat the Hornets. Sophomore Jenn Peters and sophomore Dale Cosgrave had five and three goals, respectively, to lead in scoring. Freshman Darrien Diaz also made eight saves in her first career start.
ABOUT THE BLACKBIRDS
Peters leads the NEC in scoring in both total goals and goals per game, with 30 and 4.29 respectively—1.00 goals better Bryant's Lauren DeScalzo. Peter is also the leader in points per game at 5.43, as well as shots per game. Sophomore Tori Shinkowitz is third in the league with 3.57 draw controls per game, while Cosgrave is second with a 2.29 assists average. Freshman Carlie Robinson is at the top of the statistical leaders in ground balls with 3.29.
As a team, the Blackbirds lead the conference with 99 total goals, and are second in goals per game with 14.14. They are also second in assists per game, points per game, draw controls per game and shots.
ABOUT THE DUCKS
Oregon is 7-2 on the year, and 1-1 in the Pac-12. The Ducks most recently defeated Fresno State, 14-7, but fell to Monmouth two days earlier by a score of 15-7. They have a .446 shot percentage, taking 28.7 shots per game while averaging 12.78 goals per game.
Olivia Pyne leads with 22 goals on the year, while Cambi Cukar has assisted 21 goals. Starting goalkeeper Jangle Parker averages 7.39 goals against, with a save percentage of .430.

ABOUT THE GAELS
St. Mary's is winless so far in the 2015 season, but play Fresno State and Sacred Heart before arriving in Brooklyn. The Gaels average 6.29 goals per game on 14.4 shots, with 44 scored total compared to 132 scored by their opponents. Jaclyn Biggers is the leading scorer with 14 goals, while Claire Healy has posted eight along with seven assists. Sydney Pinello averages 19.03 goals against in the cage, with a save percentage of .263.
