BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse team continues its spring break trip this week. The Blackbirds make a stop at Kennesaw State on Tuesday, March 10 at 6:00 p.m., before heading to Campbell on March 14 at 1:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

The Blackbirds fell in a close match to Mercer on Saturday, 15-14, on a last-second goal from the Bears. Eight athletes contributed to the scoring. Freshman Dale Cosgrave led the Blackbirds with three points and three assists to lead LIU with six points. 

ABOUT THE BLACKBIRDS

Now 1-1 on the season, sophomore Jenn Peters is the top scorer for LIU with seven goals, while Cosgrave leads in points with 14. Freshman Sierra O'Connor has six goals on the season to start, while sophomore Mary McQueen has posted four. Carlie Robinson ranks first for LIU in ground balls with seven, and caused turnovers with five.

SCOUTING THE OWLS

Kennesaw State is 1-6 on the year, with their lone win coming against Delaware State on Feb. 22. They most recently dropped a 17-2 decision against La Salle on Saturday. As a team, the Owls take 17.1 shots per game and have a 0.408 shot percentage. Sydney Farwick and Taylor McGhee each have 13 goals and 14 points on the year, while goalkeepers average 18.15 goals against and a .368 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE CAMELS

Campbell also only has one win on the season, which came against Kennesaw State on March 1. Erica Hitch and Loren Day have each scored 16 goals and combined for 13 assists, and goalkeeper Meredith Bechler has a 12.95 goals against average and a .410 save percentage. The Camels average 10.33 goals per game and take 24.2 shots per game.
