BROOKLYN, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn junior
Kyaira Wright-Harmon was named the Northeast Conference Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league Tuesday.
Competing in her signature event for only the second time this season, Wright-Harmon cleared 1.78m to strike gold at the Florida Relays in the high jump. She beat out competitors from Penn State, Maryland, Louisville and Alabama and is only one of 24 Division I high jumpers to reach that height this season. Wright-Harmon currently holds a 9-centimeter lead over the second-place occupant on the NEC performance list.
Up next, the Blackbirds compete at the Hampton Relays and George Mason Spring Invitational this weekend.
