HACKENSACK, N.J. - A third straight Northeast Conference road game awaits the LIU Brooklyn men's basketball team on Thursday, as the Blackbirds travel to New Jersey to take on Fairleigh Dickinson.
•LIU is 2-0 on its three-game road swing, having defeated Wagner and Bryant, both of whom occupied a share of the top spot of the NEC standings at the time of the game.
•Junior Aakim Saintil was a big part of why the Blackbirds were so successful over their prior two games, and was named NEC Player of the Week after averaging 21.5 points and 4.0 assists over the two wins.
•Saintil shot 52.0 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from the three-point line and 92.3 percent from the charity stripe in the two victories, including a career-high 27 points in the come-from-behind win at Wagner.
•In the contest against Bryant, sophomore Trevin Woods broke out in a big way by scoring a career-best 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting from three-point range.
•The six three-pointers matched a single-game high in the NEC this season and was the most for a Blackbird in a contest since Gerrell Martin knocked down six in a win against Saint Peter's at Barclays Center on Nov. 9, 2013.
•LIU's 18-point margin of victory against Bryant was the most since defeating Mount St. Mary's in the 2013 NEC Championship game, 91-70, on March 12, 2013.
•Fairleigh Dickinson enters Thursday's matchup one game ahead of the Blackbirds with a 4-2 NEC record, and 8-9 overall.
•The Knights boast one of the league's top offensive units, leading NEC teams in scoring and assists.
