HARTFORD, Conn. - The LIU Brooklyn men's basketball team's extended road trip continues Wednesday, November 30, as the Blackbirds head to Hartford to take on the Hawks at Chase Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.

- LIU men's basketball is 5-1 so far this season, the best start for the program since the 1982-83 season.
- Most recently, the Blackbirds are coming off an overtime win at the Tsongas Center, where they beat UMass Lowell, 82-78.
- Senior Jerome Frink had a season-high 27 points, along with nine rebounds and four assists in the win for LIU, while senior Iverson Fleming had 16 points, five assists and four steals. Senior Nura Zanna had his first double-double of the season, with 15 points, 12 rebounds and three steals. Sophomore Julius van Sauers had eight points for LIU.
- Fleming was named the NEC Co-Player of the Week for his efforts in LIU's wins over Maine and Lowell last week. For the week he averaged 21.0 points per outing, hitting 71.4 percent from distance and 93.8 percent from the stripe. Fleming also added 4.0 rpg, 3.0 apg and turned the ball over just twice in 71 minutes. He began his week by hitting all 12 of his free throws in a career-high 26-point effort to go along with five boards in Monday's 71-66 victory over Maine. Fleming added 16 points, five assists and three steals on Saturday as the Blackbirds knocked off UMass Lowell, 82-78, in overtime. His steal with five seconds left in regulation preserved the tie, and he scored five points in the extra session. Fleming, who hails from North Brunswick, N.J., ranks second on the Blackbirds with 12.7 ppg on the year.
- Hartford enters Wednesday's match-up with a 1-6 record so far this season. The Hawks beat Niagara 82-78 to open the season, but have dropped six straight since then. Most recently, they fell on the road to Rutgers (77-75) and North Texas (81-78).
- The Hawks are led by redshirt senior guard Jalen Ross, who is averaging a blazing 23.4 points per game. 6-4 sophomore guard Jason Dunn is a combo threat for Hartford, second on the team in scoring, with 13.1 points per game, and one of the leading rebounders, with 5.6 boards per game. 6-8 sophomore forward John Carroll is the other board clearer for the Hawks, as he averages 5.6 rebounds per game, along with 8.0 points per contest.
