FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The LIU Brooklyn men's basketball team (11-11, 6-5 Northeast Conference) will take on Sacred Heart for the second time in 11 days on Saturday afternoon. The Blackbirds recently defeated the Pioneers (7-15, 6-5 NEC) at the Steinberg Wellness Center last Wednesday, 92-84, and currently stand a game behind them in the NEC standings. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m., with all of the action available on NEC Front Row.

QUICK HITTERS
•Sophomore Martin Hermannsson, who was named NEC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week on Monday, scored 21 points to lead LIU.
•Hermannsson is the first Blackbird since C.J. Garner in 2012-13 to score 20 or more points in three straight games.
•In addition, junior Jerome Frink tallied 19 points and narrowly missed out on his third straight double-double with nine rebounds.
•The Blackbirds overcame a rocky first half that saw them turn the ball over 10 times and get outrebounded by an eight-boad margin (22-14). But solid shooting (48.0%) kept the deficit to one heading to intermission.
•Junior Iverson Fleming came off the bench to spark LIU defensively, registering a career-high four steals in 16 minutes of action.
•Sacred Heart is currently riding a two-game winning streak that includes its last outing, a 74-70 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday.
•Sophomore Cane Broome, who scored a career-high 38 points in his last matchup with the Blackbirds, had 28 points against the Terriers on 11-of-21 from the field.
•Three other players scored in double figures for the Pioneers, including Tevin Falzon who had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
