BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Just two days off a win over the top team in the Northeast Conference, the LIU Brooklyn men's basketball team heads across the Verrazano Bridge to take on current No. 3 seed Wagner, Saturday, February 25 at 4 p.m. for the final game of the 2016-17 regular season. The game between inter-borough rivals will determine final seedings for the 2017 Northeast Conference championships. LIU (19-11, 12-5 NEC) can clinch a share of the regular season championship title with a win at Wagner, and a Mount St. Mary's loss to St. Francis Brooklyn.

With the win over Mount St. Mary's Thursday, LIU clinched at least a No. 2 seed in the playoffs. The Blackbirds would need a win over Wagner and a Mount loss to St. Francis Brooklyn Saturday to share the title with the Mountaineers. Seeding in the tournament would then be determined by the Saint Francis/FDU game; the Blackbirds would need FDU to win the game to take the top spot in the tournament bracket.

• LIU enters the contest riding a five game winning streak, including a 62-58 win over Mount St. Mary's Thursday evening in Maryland. Senior Iverson Fleming led all players in the win for the Blackbirds, with 21 points, while Nura Zanna had 11 points and 13 rebounds.
