LOWELL, Mass. – The LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse team heads north this weekend to take on UMass Lowell, in a final non-conference tune up, Saturday, March 25 at 4 p.m. The Blackbirds (2-5) take on the River Hawks (4-2) on Cushing Field.

It was a tale of two halves for the LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon, as the Blackbirds would rally in the second half to score seven goals on local rival Manhattan, but the Jaspers were able to hold off the surge and take the win, 15-12.
Senior Jenn Peters led all players with five goals in the win, while classmate Tori Shinkowitz had two goals, two assists and four draw controls.
SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS
UMass Lowell enters Saturday's contest with a 4-2 overall record. After opening the year with loses to Dartmouth (11-9) and Boston University (12-7), the River Hawks are now riding a four game winning streak, including wins over Iona (11-6), Army (13-6, Sacred Heart (10-8) and Quinnipiac (9-5) at home on Wednesday.
UML is a young team, with just one senior on the roster, and nine juniors. 11 sophomores and eight freshmen dominate the roster, and most of the statistical categories
Sophomore Rebecca Idson leads the team with 14 goals and one assist, while sophomore Jane Dudley has 10 goals and five assists. Sophomore Kendyl Finelli has a team-high eight assists, along with five goals.
Defensively, sophomore Kristina Keith has 14 caused turnovers, 13 ground balls and eight draw controls, all team highs. And junior Courtney Barrett has all six decisions in net, with 47 saves on the season so far.
