2016-17 AP All-America Teams
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn men's basketball senior Jerome Frink added another postseason accolade to his growing list, garnering honorable mention recognition when the Associated Press released its 2016-17 All-America teams Tuesday. Frink was also named the Northeast Conference Player of the year, an ECAC All Star, and an All-District selection after leading LIU to a 20-12 regular season and a second place finish in the conference standings.
The Jersey City, N.J. native finished the year fourth in the league averaging 16.8 points per game, and ranked second in the league with 8.9 rebounds per game. He had 13 double-doubles on the season, including 10 games scoring 20 points or more, including a career-high 30 points in an overtime win at Bryant. He was also tenth in the league in blocks (1.0 per game), and averaged 2.3 assists per game. He finished with over 1,600 career points in his college career.
Frink was also named to the All-NEC First Team for the second straight year. In addition, he was named an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Star Second Team selection, and a National Association of Basketball Coaches Division I District 18 First Team honoree.
