BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- Over the weekend, the LIU Brooklyn track and field teams split their efforts and competed in a pair of meets, the Aggie Invitational at North Carolina A&T and the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships at Rutgers University.
The best performances of the weekend came from the Blackbirds' field athletes. LIU's lone event win came at the Aggie meet from freshman
Taylor Parker in the shot put. The Maryland native earned her first career victory with a season-best toss of 44-8.00 (13.61m). On the men's side, sophomore
Clinton Belle racked up a trio of top-10 marks in the throws. The Brooklynite finished second in the discus (132-6.00 / 40.39m), third in the hammer (102-4.00 / 31.20m) and sixth in the javelin (139-2.00 / 42.41m).
At the Metro meet, senior
Adam Walker-Khan earned a pair of top-4 finishes in the triple jump (2nd, 50-0.00 / 15.24m) and as part of the 4x400 Relay with junior
Airrin Davis, sophomore
Kobe White and freshman
Corey Butcher (3rd, 3:22.83). Freshman
Stephanie Esogenwune paced the women at Metros with a third-place leap in the triple jump (38-2.75 / 11.65m)
All together, the Blackbirds produced 11 marks in the top five, 18 in the top ten and 35 in the top 20.

LIU will compete in two events again this week, sending contingents to the Duke Invitational in Durham, North Carolina and the Albany Spring Classic in Albany, New York.
