BROOKLYN, N.Y. – LIU Brooklyn men's basketball senior Jerome Frink has been selected to the All-Met Men's Division I First Team, it was announced by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Monday.
The honor, voted on by basketball writers in New York City, is the latest of a long list for the Jersey City, N.J. native. Frink was also named the Northeast Conference Player of the Year, honorable mention All-America, an ECAC All-Star and an All-District and first-team All-NEC honoree.
Kevin Willard of Seton Hall was named Coach of the Year, while St. John's Shamorie Ponds was named Rookie of the Year. The winner of the Lt. Frank J. Haggerty Award as All-Met Men's Player of the Year will be announced by the MBWA at the annual awards dinner on Wednesday.
Frink finished the year averaging 16.8 points per game, and 8.9 rebounds per game. He had 13 double-doubles on the season, including 10 games scoring 20 points or more, including a career-high 30 points in an overtime win at Bryant. He finished with over 1,600 career points in his college career.
