PRINCETON, N.J. --- A small contingent of the LIU Brooklyn women's track and field team took part in the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships this weekend at Princeton University. Although the small group finished tied for 24th place with 12 points, the three Blackbirds that competed all placed in the top eight in the events to add to the team's point total.
The best performance from the trio came from sophomore
Shantae McDonald after the Jamaican native took bronze in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.09 (6 points). Senior
Cassandra Jones narrowly missed out on a bronze of her own, finishing fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 54.82 - 0.11 seconds away from the podium (5 pts). The lone field competitor for LIU was senior Rashema Briscoe, who placed eighth in the javelin throw after a toss of 136-1.00 / 41.49m (1 pt).
