Women's Track & Field | Jun 02 | Women's Track Earns Seven Spots On All-NEC Teams Story Links 2017 All-NEC OTF Teams BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- The LIU Brooklyn women's track and field program earned seven spots on the Northeast Conference (NEC) Outdoor All-Conference teams, the league announced on Friday afternoon. Leading the way for the Blackbirds on the All-NEC First Team were senior Cassandra Jones, sophomore Shantae McDonald, and the 4x400 Relay quartet of Jones, McDonald, sophomore Cayla Coleman, and freshman T'Rejyah Johnson. McDonald, named the meet's Most Valuable Performer and the Most Outstanding Track Performer (Sprints), made the team in the 100 meter hurdles, while Jones was recognized individually in the 200 and 400 meters. McDonald's efforts in the 200 meters allowed her to join freshmen Stephanie Esogenwune (triple jump) and Taylor Parker (shot put) on the All-NEC Second Team. Finally, Parker's performance in the Shot Put earned her a place on the NEC's Outdoor All-Rookie team.
