Women's Track & Field | Jan 16 | McDonald, Parker Earn NEC Track Weekly Accolades BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- Junior Shantae McDonald and sophomore Taylor Parker have been named the Northeast Conference's Women's Indoor Track and Indoor Field Athletes of the Week, respectively. The league made the announcement Tuesday afternoon after the duo's outstanding performances at this weekend's UAlbany Great Dane Classic. McDonald, the reigning NEC Indoor hurdles champion, ran a league-leading and ECAC-qualifying time of 8.81 in the 60m hurdles time. McDonald also trimmed nearly one full second off the season-opening 400m time from December with a 58.10 time that moved her into second place amongst NEC leaders. Parker took the Great Dane crown in the shot put with a toss of 47-3.00 (14.40m), setting a LIU school record and placing her second on the NEC performance list on her first throw. Her mark sets only 24 centimeters off the conference leader and ranks 13th in ECAC qualifying. The weekly honors are the third this season for the women's team, after junior Eugenie Hue was named Track Athlete of the Week on December 13.
