BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn men's basketball team returns to the Steinberg Wellness Center this Saturday, November 24, hosting local rival NJIT (5-1) for a matinee game in downtown Brooklyn. The game, which will air on NEC Front Row, will tip off at 2 p.m.

- The Blackbirds (3-2) will be looking to snap a two-game road losing streak at home this weekend.
- LIU suffered its second straight loss on the road Tuesday night, falling to the University of Milwaukee, 90-87 in overtime at the UWM Panther Arena. The Blackbirds led by as many as ten points in the first half, and by five points with a minute left in regulation, but couldn't withstand a late surge by the Panthers.
- Junior Jashaun Agosto had a career-high 25 points, shooting 8-for-16 from the field and 9-for-12 from the free throw line. He also had six assists.
- Senior Raiquan Clark had 21 points for the Blackbirds, while sophomore Ty Flowers had his second double-double of the season, with 14 points and ten rebounds.
- Junior Julian Batts had 11 points for LIU, while junior Julius van Sauers was just one bucket away from his first career double-double, with eight points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
- LIU had a season-high seven blocks in the loss, including two apiece for van Sauers and Batts.
- NJIT comes into Saturday's game with a 5-1 overall record, including wins over Brown (63-60) and most recently, Wagner (71-60).
- Sophomore guard Zach Cooks is the player to watch for the Highlanders, as he leads the team in nearly every category. He's averaging 16.7 points per game, a team high 4.8 rebounds per game, and has 19 steals. The Georgia native had 22 points against Wagner, driving NJIT to the win.
- The other two players in double figures for NJIT include senior guard Diandre Wilson (14.6 ppg) and junior guard Shyquan Gibbs (12.2 ppg).
- Up next, the Blackbirds travel across the pond to resume play in the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic. LIU will open the tournament taking on the University at Albany, Thursday, November 29, before taking on the winner of the Marist/Dartmouth matchup, Friday, November 30. All of the Ireland games will air on CBS Sports Network.
