Men's Basketball Welcomes Brown to Brooklyn Friday

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn men's basketball team will host their second home game in four days this  Friday,  November 9, when the Blackbirds welcome Brown University to the Steinberg Wellness Center. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with the women's basketball team taking on Army in game one of a downtown Brooklyn doubleheader at 5 p.m.

QUICK HITS
• The Blackbirds are coming off a season-opening win over DIII's College of New Rochelle, 109-76. LIU had all 12 active players on the roster score in the win, with six Blackbirds scoring in double digits.
Ty Flowers had a strong debut in his first time on the court in an LIU uniform. The redshirt sophomore, who had to sit out last year due to transfer regulations, had a career high in points (21), rebounds (10), assists (6) and blocks (4) for the Blackbirds. Senior Raul Frias also had career highs in points (19) and rebounds (9), while senior Raiquan Clark led the team with 22 points, nine rebounds, since steals and five assists.
•  Junior Jashaun Agosto  was  also  in  double  digits  with  12  points,  while  sophomore  Eral  Penn  had  10  points, six rebounds and two blocks, and junior Ashtyn Bradley added nine points late in the game, tying his career high.
• Brown is opening their 2018-19 season in Brooklyn this Friday, but it's an experienced group. The Bears return all five of their starters from last season, including the Ivy League Rookie of the Year, Desmond Cambridge.
• Last season, Brown beat the Blackbirds in Rhode Island, 94-86, behind now-junior Brandon Anderson's 24 points. It was the first and only meeting between the two programs.
• Brown was picked to finish fifth in the Ivy League's preseason poll.
• The Bears are just one of four teams in the country to return their starting five, including all five of the team's top scorers from last year.
