BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse team had two of their own honored Thursday night, when it was announced at the Northeast Conference banquet Thursday night that
Amanda Masullo and
Rachel Masullo had both earned NEC postseason honors.
Amanda Masullo was named second team All-NEC, while she and
Rachel Masullo were named to the NEC All-Rookie team.
The duo, who both played and started all 16 games for LIU, combined for 57 goals and 80 points on the year. The two honorees were the most for the program since the 2015 season, and the first career honors for the young Blackbirds.
Amanda Masullo was named to the All-NEC second team after leading the Blackbirds in scoring. The Selden, N.Y. native finished the season with a team-high 31 goals and 12 assists, and second on the team with 43 total points. She led the team with 77 draw controls, and added 26 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers.
Rachel Masullo was right behind her in the standings, with 26 goals this season, and seven assists. She finished the year with 37 points, and had 74 draw controls, 18 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers.
