BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse team earned both team and individual honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA), it was announced Monday afternoon. The Blackbirds were named a Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad, while
Candice Mosal,
Sierra O'Connor and
Taylor O'Connor were named to the 2018 Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll.
339 schools across Divisions I, II, III and the NAIA were named IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads for the 2017-18 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year. LIU finished the 2017-18 year with a 3.543 team GPA.
Individually, the IWLCA honored 462 student-athletes from 105 different institutions on the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
