BROOKLYN, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn men's basketball senior Raiquan Clark was named first team All-District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, it was announced Thursday.
Clark was joined on the District 18 first team by Keith Braxton and Jamaal King of Saint Francis U., Sean Hoehn of Sacred Heart and Darnell Edge, of FDU, the same five that made up the All-Northeast Conference first team this year.
Clark earned his first All-District honors, after leading the NEC in scoring all season long. The New Haven, Conn. native averaged 18.9 points per game this season, leading all scorers in the conference all season. He also averaged 6.8 rebounds per game, ranking sixth in the NEC, and ranked in the top 12 in field goal percentage (.503 - 10th), steals (1.25 per game - 11th), offensive rebounds (1.94 per game - 9th), defensive rebounds (4.81 per game - 6th) and minutes played (32.34 - 10th). He finished the regular season with six double doubles, and had 14 games this season where he scored 20 points or more. Earlier this year, he became the 36th player in LIU Brooklyn basketball history to eclipse the 1,000 point mark. Since then, he's tallied 1,406 career points, ranking him 18th on the all time scoring list.
The teams were selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division I.
