2018: Played in 19 games for LIU, starting 18… Scored one goal at NJIT… Had eight assists on the season, including two against #18 West Virginia in the NCAA Tournament… Also had two assists in LIU’s 2-1 win over St. Francis Brooklyn in the regular season.
2017: Played in 16 of LIU’s 18 games, including 11 starts… Finished second on the team with 24 shots… Had the game-winning goal and an assist in a win over Howard… Scored the game winning goal against Sacred Heart… Played a season high 90 minutes in win over Saint Francis U.
2016: Named second-team All-Northeast Conference… Also named to the NEC All-Rookie team, just one of two freshmen to earn both All-NEC accolades and NEC All-Rookie honors… Was a three-time NEC Rookie of the Week… Finished the season ranked fourth in the conference in assists per game, and third in total assists, with six… Played in all 18 games for LIU, including nine starts… Finished the season with three goals… Scored his first collegiate goal, also the game-winner, against Army… Also scored goals in wins over NJIT and Sacred Heart.
Background: Played high school soccer for Xaverian, and club soccer for the Brooklyn Italians… Was selected five times for youth national team camps and competed in the NPSL for the Brooklyn Italians.
Personal: Son of Joe and Camille Barone… Has three siblings, Peter, Salvatore and Gabriella… Father, Joe, and brother, Salvatore, both played soccer for borough rival St. Francis Brooklyn.
